Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Bedtime Worlds.
Bedtime Worlds is a parent-owned app in development. These terms cover this website and our launch list today, and set out the terms we intend to apply to the app when it launches.
Last updated: 30 July 2026 · Version 1.0
1. These terms, and who they are with
These terms are an agreement between you and Bedtime Worlds. In these terms, "we," "us," and "our" mean Bedtime Worlds, and "you" means the adult using this site or the app.
By using this website, joining our launch list, or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Our Privacy Notice explains how we handle your family's information and forms part of this agreement.
2. Who may use Bedtime Worlds
Bedtime Worlds is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old, and legally able to enter into a contract, to join the launch list or hold an account.
Children do not sign up, log in, or use the app on their own. The app is designed for a parent or guardian to use with a child, and the account, the settings, and the stories are all under adult control.
If you provide information about a child, you confirm that you are that child's parent or legal guardian, or that you have that person's permission to do so.
3. The launch list
Joining the launch list means we may email you about the launch and development of Bedtime Worlds, and occasionally invite you to help shape the product. That is all it means. It does not create an account, reserve a subscription, guarantee access at launch, or entitle you to any particular price or feature.
You should only submit an email address that is yours, or that you are authorized to use. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can leave the list at any time.
Signing up is the only way to contact us through this site. We may remove entries that appear to be automated, abusive, or invalid.
4. Pre-launch status: no promises about features or dates
Bedtime Worlds has not launched. Everything on this website describes a product in development. Features, story worlds, illustration styles, pricing, and timing may change, be delayed, or be dropped entirely, and nothing on this site is a binding commitment or an offer to sell.
Any early access, beta, or preview version of the app is provided as-is, may contain errors, and may be changed or withdrawn at any time.
5. Your account and your responsibilities
When accounts are available, you are responsible for the accuracy of your account details, for keeping your login credentials private, and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access to it.
Because a child's experience runs through an adult's account, you are also responsible for supervising how your child uses the app, for reviewing stories before sharing them, and for the content of the daily summaries and messages you write.
6. What you give us, and what stays yours
Your content is the material you provide: voice notes, typed summaries, character descriptions, names and nicknames, and the notes you write to your child. It stays yours. We do not claim ownership of it.
You give us a limited license to host, store, process, and display your content for one purpose: operating the service for you. That means transcribing what you record, generating your stories and illustrations, saving them to your library, and keeping your world's continuity intact. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies that remain briefly in routine backups.
We do not sell your content, and we do not use your family's stories, recordings, or messages to train AI models.
You confirm that you have the rights to the content you provide, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.
7. Stories and illustrations the app creates
The stories and illustrations the app generates from your content are yours to keep, read aloud, print, and share with family and friends for personal, non-commercial use.
Two honest caveats about AI-generated material. First, similar inputs can produce similar outputs, so we cannot promise that any story or image is unique to you. Second, the legal status of copyright in AI-generated material varies by country and is still settling.
Our own artwork, world designs, characters, and story-world names are ours, and a license to your generated stories is not a license to those. See section 11.
8. How AI is used, and its limits
Bedtime Worlds uses AI to turn what you tell us into a story and to illustrate it. AI is imperfect. A story may misread the tone of your day, get a detail wrong, or produce an illustration you do not like. You can regenerate, edit, or delete anything before you read it to your child, and we recommend that a parent reads a story first.
Bedtime Worlds is entertainment for families. It is not therapy, counseling, medical, educational, or child-development advice, and it must not be relied on as a substitute for professional help. If your child needs support, please speak with a qualified professional.
9. Acceptable use
This is a product for children's bedtimes, and we take that seriously. You agree not to:
- Create a hero for, or write stories about, a child who is not yours, or whose parent has not agreed.
- Attempt to generate sexual, violent, hateful, harassing, or otherwise harmful material, in particular anything involving a child.
- Use the service for anything unlawful, or to infringe someone else's intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the service or its output, or use it to build a competing product.
- Scrape, reverse engineer, probe, overload, or interfere with the service, or bypass its safeguards and usage limits.
- Submit automated, bulk, or fraudulent launch-list signups.
We may apply reasonable limits on story generation and other usage to keep the service running for everyone.
10. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation
Bedtime Worlds is expected to be a paid subscription, purchased through the app store you download it from. Prices, plan structure, free trial terms, and any launch-list offer will be shown before you buy.
Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You manage and cancel through your app store account, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Because the app store handles payment, its refund policy applies to purchases made there.
Where consumer law gives you a right to cancel or a refund, nothing in these terms takes that right away.
11. Our intellectual property
The Bedtime Worlds name, logo, artwork, illustration styles, story-world concepts and names, software, and the design of this site and the app are owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the app for your family's own bedtime reading, and nothing more. All other rights are reserved.
12. App stores and third-party services
The app will be distributed through third-party app stores and built on third-party infrastructure, including hosting, transcription, and AI model providers. Their terms apply to their part of the experience, and we are not responsible for services we do not control.
Where an app store requires specific additional terms, those terms apply to your download and purchase.
13. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Bedtime Worlds at any time, delete your content, and close your account.
We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if we must do so by law, or if your use puts children, other families, or the service at risk. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you first and give you a chance to export your stories. If we discontinue the service, we will give you notice and a reasonable opportunity to download your library.
14. Disclaimers
The service is provided as-is and as-available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated stories will meet your expectations.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or loss of goodwill.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
16. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these terms, or from content you provide that you did not have the right to provide.
17. Governing law and disputes
Let us try to sort things out directly first. If something goes wrong, contact us and we will work with you in good faith to resolve it.
These terms do not limit any rights or remedies available to you under laws that cannot be waived by agreement.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Bedtime Worlds develops. We will update the date at the top whenever we revise them. If a change is material, we will tell launch-list members and account holders by email before it takes effect, and continuing to use the service after that means you accept the revised terms.
19. General terms
These terms, together with the Privacy Notice, are the entire agreement between us about the service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it.
You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent. We may transfer ours in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will tell you. Nothing in these terms creates a partnership or agency between us.
20. Contact
Before launch, the launch list is the way to reach us. Join it on the homepage and reply to any email we send you.
